Johann Sebastian Bach in this 5th cello suite requests that the A string of the cello be tuned down to G. It gives the instrument an extra resonance due to the key of Cm. So I did that on my Mandocello for this recording.

What's interesting is that in the original handwriting of Anna Magdalena Bach (We don't have J.S. Bach's original) it is written as if your instrument is tuned normally. So he essentially is transposing up a whole step, just on the first string. Kind of amazing I would say. Enjoy!
